Join me for our second annual “Shabbat on the Fly” fishing trip at the Lodge at Palisades Creek in Irwin, Idaho from July 31- August 3, 2008. We will share a weekend of fishing, with a little Torah and Shabbat thrown in for good measure and good luck.
The Lodge at Palisades Creek is a first class lodge in Irwin, Idaho on the South Fork of the Snake River. The Snake is one of the finest dry fly rivers in North America, surrounded by cliffs, eagles, moose, waterfalls and the most beautiful blue sky imaginable. It is one of my favorite places in the world to fish. The Lodge will provide all meals (the food is incredible), guides, boats, and whatever equipment you might need. The Lodge has a catch-and-release and barbless hook policy. You can check out the Lodge at www.tlapc.com.
We will arrive on Thursday, July 31st, fish all day Friday, enjoy Shabbat dinner, have a brief service Saturday morning, fish all day Saturday, we fish again most of the day Sunday. There will be plenty of time to relax around the fireplace at the bar, enjoy the lodge and swap fishing stories. The Lodge is about an hour away from both the Jackson Hole and Idaho Falls airports. The cost for the three days of fishing, lodging (double occupancy in river front cabins, beautifully appointed) and meals is $1,500 per person.
With only 20 spaces, the weekend will sell out quickly. Be among the fist to sign up. Please call Ruth in my office (213) 388-2401 or email her at rstoch@wbtla.org to let me know you will join me for this wonderful weekend.
