Rabbi Karen L. Fox

California native Rabbi Karen L. Fox has served Wilshire Boulevard Temple since the the mid 1980's when she served as the Director of Camp Hess Kramer. A 1973 UCLA graduate, she earned two master’s degrees (in Hebrew letters from Hebrew Union College—Jewish Institute of Religion in 1976, and in counseling psychology from Pepperdine University in 1990) and received her rabbinical ordination from HUC-JIR in New York City in 1978. She also holds a Doctor of Divinity and is a licensed Marriage and Family Psychotherapist.

Rabbi Fox coauthored Seasons for Celebration (Putnam, l992), a user-friendly guide to Jewish holidays, and has published articles on women's issues, health and healing and Jewish spirituality.

She has served on the Board of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and was a member of their Ethics Committee. She is a member of the Rabbinic Committee of Israel Bonds.

Rabbi Fox is married and the mother of two twentysomething sons.
